November 25, 2009: As a part of Arghyam's ASHWAS initiative (A Survey for Household Water And Sanitation) action plans have been prepared by 120 gram panchayats (GP) in Karnataka to deal with the key issues highlighted by the survey. The dissemination and action planning process in 20 GPs are under progress. ASHWAS was conducted in 172 gram panchayats in 28 districts across Karnataka.
